I’ve spent much of my career thinking about businesses, and more than a decade building them.

 

My foundation began with a B.Comm from the University of Calgary and years working around contracts and A&D transactions in the energy industry.

But the experience that most shapes my work today came from building a business of my own.

 

In 2015, I bought a small dog daycare with three employees and approximately $150K in annual revenue. Over the next decade, I grew it into a multi-service business generating more than $1M annually, with a team of nearly 20, before selling it in 2025.

 

Along the way came two expansions, new services and revenue streams, systems, technology, marketing, people, organizational structure, and the growing pains that happen when a business becomes several times the size of the one you started with.

 

It taught me to look beyond growth itself and consider how decisions work across the whole business, and whether they create an outcome worth pursuing.
